I'm always hesitant to give negative reviews, but I did not have a great experience. Ordered takeout, and it took an inexplicable amount of time given the restaurant was empty, but I'm not concerned with service as much as I am with food. I ordered typical stuff. Hot and aour with the general and some spring rolls. The rolls were just raw lettuce and some carrott slivers in a rice paper wrap. The chicken was odd and overcooked to the point of being rock hard and the soup was just bland. Once again I cannot stand giving negative feedback but I was let down.

We have been going here for atleast 5 years and love it! We have tried others and been disgusted. Here they know you personally and the food is always wonderful.

I know I'm white, but I know what good Chinese food is. We went here tonight and ordered takeout. There was one table seated in the place when we arrived, and they already had their food. We ordered 3 meals to go. Meanwhile, more tables arrived, ordered, and received their food before us. Other people came in and picked up to-go orders also. What took ours so long? 30 minutes later, we realized it was because they were really busy over-cooking everything. Our duck was dry (think fried chicken livers). The orange beef had the consistency of beef jerky (I'm not kidding). As far as taste goes, the ma po tofu lacked any flavor and tasted like a cambell's soup. The orange beef only had three tiny crowns of broccoli with it, but it did taste kind of like orange. Too bad it was orange jerky. The duck was not bad, as far as flavor goes, but it was overdone and I don't like dry duck. So if you want to wait a long time for a terrible meal, this is your place. P.S. I'll post pictures P.P.S. the fried rice sucks too.

We always go here to eat Chinese food and it's wonderful! Every time we dine in they know our drink order and generally what we want to eat. I usely get the Buddhist Delight and the hunny gets Mongolian beef or chicken without veggies. The Buddhist Delight is my favorite dish and can't find it at other places or if I do I don't like it. All around it's a supper friendly and homey place. Couldn't ask for more in a restaurant!

Do not click on the "Order Pickup or Delivery" button and try and order online! It will not work! I tried using that to order online. They even charged me. Then, after not receiving my order, I called Fortune Restaurant and they had no clue I had placed an order! After them trying to figure things out, they told me they aren't even on Yelp. I told them, that I got their number from Yelp. They basically said I was lying and that they don't have a Yelp. Terrible communication! I will never order (or try) to order from here again! If I could give them 0 stars, I would!

My family has been eating at Fortune literally my whole life. I see that it has some bad reviews, but in thirty years, we really haven't had a bad experience. It's our favorite restaurant. Their egg rolls are our favorite anywhere, although we'll also challenge anyone to beat their fried chicken dumplings. I love their Moo Goo Gai Pan and my Mom and Sister are partial to their chicken and broccoli. The staff is super friendly and always makes us feel like part of the family. They're also very patient and kind when we come in, and we run with a 10 month old and a rowdy 2.5 year old - so it's a handful even when everyone's on their best behavior. They dote on the kids as though they're their own and are super patient with the inevitable mess that follows. We love this restaurant and will keep coming back as long as they'll let us.

My husband & I have a love for fried rice & egg rolls but as you all may know it's hard to find a place that makes it taste home made, then we stumbled upon this place! Perfect food every time we will never go anywhere else to eat chinese! They are so nice & the food is phenomenal!

This is a good, solid Chinese restaurant with your typical fare. Only the quality is much higher than the mushy slop you often get at the quick take out Chinese restaurants. I've only eaten here for lunch, so I haven't honestly explored their menu fully as I usually get the cheap lunch specials. If you eat off the lunch menu you get a bowl of soup, a large egg roll, and your entree. Usually I'm so full when my entree arrives that I get to take half home for lunch tomorrow. Score! Their orange chicken is my favorite, but I'm also keen on their lo mein with tofu.

We placed a to-go order via phone and when arrived to pick it up they had giving our order away to someone else. So we had to wait another 10 minutes for them to re-make our order, while we waited the hostess and a waiter spent the whole time flirting with each other and didn't even offer us a drink or possibly comp our egg-rolls for our time. The portions were tiny and tasteless, but the fried rice was good. We'll probably not go back there again. I guess we were hoping for a descent experience from a family-owned business.

We're regulars here. This is a great family-owned restaurant, not your average cheap and greasy Chinese takeout spot. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout, it's always great and very reasonably priced. Their egg rolls are fabulous, particularly with their homemade spicy mustard and duck sauce (it's kept on each table). The kung pao chicken is my favorite! Orange chicken, beef and broccoli, and egg drop soup are also wonderful. My fiancé has had nearly everything on the menu and has yet to find something he hasn't liked. The service may be a little slow when they get busy, but it's never a problem for us, instead we're just happy to see them getting more business. Very nice family, and even better food.

We had the General Tso, lemon and Hawaiian chicken dishes. It was our first time trying Fortune. Unfortunately a very disappointing experience. All of the chicken was very heavily dipped in a type of garlic batter. The egg rolls were strange almost like a nutmeg flavor. The crab rangoons were flavorless and no sweet flavor at all. I have never had the General Tso prepared as they did and it was terrible. We ended up throwing most of the whole meal away. I would definitely not recommend.

Really good food--especially good egg rolls. I like the "happy family" and fried rice. Prices are very reasonable, free delivery, too. Dine in or take out.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
